This special interest group embraces a wide array of topics, extending beyond Hongkonger diaspora studies to explore Hong Kong as a cultural, social and political betwixt and between. We examine the fluidity, uncertainty, and contestation that shape the city’s identity, culture, and evolving concepts of citizenship. The theme spotlights diasporic insights, lived realities, and unique frameworks of understanding across pedagogy, scholarship, and civic engagement. By bringing these perspectives to the forefront, we foster a dedicated environment for shared reflection, mutual support, and collaborative action
